Reminder!
Monday, September 7th the Office SIG will be replaced (this month only)
by a Windows Live Sig presented by Matt Wallace.
Where: Bay Club (class room)
When: 10:30am to Noon
Subject: Updating your Email skills & programs
If you are still using Outlook Express for sending and receiving your
email, then this SIG should be of interest to you. Outlook Express
is no longer supported by Microsoft who has provided Windows Live
as a replacement. They are not much different in their functions and
displays, but Windows Live offers you easier ways of accomplishing
your tasks.
Come and share in the learning process. And, DON’T BE AFRAID
TO ASK QUESTIONS.
Wish I could be there but I will be in Idaho.
Bob Graham
Next Meeting: May 4, 2009, 10:30 to Noon
Windows Live Mail class to be held at the Bay Club
[Last Meeting:
February 2, 2009]
Attendance is restricted to PLCC members and Port Ludlow residents wanting to try a SIG prior to joining PLCC.
Many of you have probably started using Windows Live Mail already and probably have come across some features that you have questions about. Like any new program it's different from what we're used to i.e. Outlook Express. Some of you might just be making the transition to Windows Live Mail and would like a little help with changing over.
Well if either one of these scenarios applies to you then this is the class for you. I will ask which of these scenarios suits the majority of the class and then we'll go from there. However, I will leave enough time to touch on the other segment of questions.
Hope to see you there. If you have any questions that may need a pre-session investigation please contact me at pata112234@msn.com
Windows Live Mail class to be held at the Bay Club November 3, 2008 from 10:30 AM till Noon
Outlook Express, Hotmail, Windows Mail and MSN Mail all will eventually be replaced by “Windows Live Mail”.
How difficult is this transition going to be? . . . . Not difficult at all
“Windows Live Mail” is so similar to Outlook Express (which is used by the majority of people) that we will hardly notice the difference . . . except for improvements and added features.
We dealt with an overview of the program at the August session. The September session featured download / installation / conversion from other mail clients.
The November 3rd follow-up session will feature questions and solutions that arise from the transition to Live Mail after we've used Live Mail for a while.
If there are any questions that you feel will require research prior to the meeting, please send them to:

Hope to see you there,
Pat
